Community Life Upgrade Initiative (CLUI) in Action

1. CLUI has held a skills acquisition program for young women where they have been taught to knit. This has empowered them economically
2. In 2012, CLUI built two nursery schools located in Ramindop, Jema’a LGA and Ankung, Jaba LGA of Kaduna state to support early year’s education. The first of its kind in the region, these schools provide a solid foundation for pupils to go into primary school with the knowledge required to thrive.
3. Both nursery schools were expanded to include Primary schools in Jaba LGA of Kaduna State. With the required resources, it is projected to be a standard institution.
4. We have been offering part scholarships to children of the needy at different levels of education.
5. We have offered financial support to an orphanage in Gidan Bege, Kaduna State.
6. We have conducted food outreach programs at an Internally Displaced Persona (IDP) camp in Missisi Community, Jema’a LGA of Kaduna State and supported members of the community.

Proposed Projects
CLUI desires to build more classrooms to support more pupils. In addition, we wish to build a library to stock a wide variety of books and cultivate a healthy reading culture among the pupils. The school is currently without a fence, and as security has become a foremost issue in Nigeria, we seek to completely fence the buildings to ensure the security of pupils as they learn.
